In this Blog I write about what I'm currently doing with S3 Graphics and Chrome-Center

History of S3 Website
Thanks to SeanHu of ChromeZone Forum, I finally made something I wanted to do since several months: I just created a gallery with images of the S3 websites of the past. Have a look: Websites of S3

New chip images
The guys at PLASMA online were so nice and gave me the permission to use their chip images on Chrome-Center. I already updated several articles with those pictures. Enjoy! Smile

Problem with latest driver

I have big troubles with the latest driver for my Chrome 430GT: The display is totally corrupted!

I made a posting about that on ChromeZone Forum: Driver 7.15.12.0363 is NOT working properly!

What have I done?

Well sometimes things just go crazy on the Internet: I wrote to a Phoronix author about the benchmark comparison so that he knows that the driver works well, he made a news about it and now this was spread to Slashdot and Chrome-Center got visitors on one day which normally come in one month!

Not that I'm too sad about that, but the truth is that the article isn't yet finished since it's difficult to find Benchmarks for both Windows and Linux and it's planned to expand the article step by step. In it's current shape it's not that great since it's only one game tested...

There will be Doom 3 and Quake 4 test during this weekend, with perhaps some more!

New Linux driver

In the last days I played around a little with the latest Linux drivers and I'm really impressed: The driver is fast, much faster than the latest Windows Vista driver! I made a small article about those results: Driver comparison Linux vs. Vista (Chrome 400/500 Series)

And there many bug fixes in this release. First of all, the install script can now handle more than one installed S3 Graphics card (Anyway, MultiChrome isn't available under Linux!) and Nexuiz now runs fine with settings to High, Ultra or Ultimate.

So, S3 Graphics, keep doing that good work! Smile
